James was born in 1784. He is the son of James Officer and Margaret Cook. [1]

James was the husband of Nancy Matlock. They were married about 9 March 1809 in Jackson, Madison, Tennessee, United States. [2] He passed away about 1848 and buried at Farley Seminary Cemetery, Putnam County, Tennessee. [3]
