She graduated from Saranac Lake HS in 1950 and from Syracuse University in 1954. She earned a Masters degree from Albany State and briefly taught school in Connecticut before her first child was born. Later she worked for ATT in data programming and systems design. She retired from ATT in 1989 and became interested in family history as a hobby in her retirement.
