I was born on August 1975, in Moore, Oklahoma, my father, Charles Albert O'Dell (1947-2021), was 28 and my mother, Connie (Hammond) O'Dell, was 21.
In 1976 my parents moved the family to Nicoma Park, Oklahoma. I went to kindergarten and 1st grade at Star Elementary in Spencer, Oklahoma. When I was in 1st grade and was playing on the playground, the Star Elementary cafeteria hot water tank blew up killing students and staff. I remember just pieces of that day. I remember the cafeteria wall laying on the ground, and the hollering and screaming. I remember having to sit in a line on the grass with my other classmates facing the teacher with all the sirens and emergency personnel around. I don't remember much other than that. Our classes were moved to another school campus after that, and we finished out the school year in portable classrooms.
The summer of 1981 my parents moved us to Harrah, Oklahoma. I went to a private school the next year and had to do 1st grade again. I remember the school was called Kings Academy, a Christian school. The very next year I started going to the Harrah school district. I continued at Harrah through high school.
In middle school I started taking art classes and continued doing so through high school. I learned and created pencil, ink and pastel drawings. I learned and created wood and clay sculptures. I threw pots on the potter's wheel. I competed in many art competitions in high school. In the spring of my senior year 1994, I had a wood sculpture make it into a show called "Young Talent Competition of Oklahoma". The sculpture was selected for the show and was on display at the Omni Plex now called the Oklahoma Science Museum for a month in Oklahoma City. That same year I had a piece of pottery that I entered into the Indian Art Competition. It won best of show at the high school which qualified it to go to regionals. At regionals it placed 3rd which barely qualified my piece for the state competition. At the Oklahoma State competition, it placed 1st. My piece of pottery was a state champ at that point and was put on display in the state art show at the Omni Plex for a month. I graduated high school in 1994.
Right after graduation I met my first wife and I attended Rose State college for art, but I couldn't do college. I dropped out 2 semesters in a row.
At this point I pretty much stopped doing art.
In 1995 my son Michael O'Dell was born and in 1996 I married his mother Angela Bean. We divorced in 1997.
I worked many different jobs during the years but in 1999 I started working at Tinker AFB as an aircraft sheet metal mechanic on the KC-135 refueling tanker. That same year I bought my parents' home since they were building a new home in Luther, Oklahoma.
In 2000 I married Misti (Hatch) O'Dell and we have two children together, Melanie O'Dell and Jessica O'Dell. I have one brother, Jeremy O'Dell.[1]

Congratulations on certifying to work on pre-1700 profiles!
It’s very important to read and understand the Help:Pre-1700 Profiles page. These profiles for deep ancestors are shared by many, and collaborating on them works best if we all follow the guidelines laid out on that page.
Primary sources should always be added to pre-1700 profiles at the time they are created. If you don't have a source for a pre-1700 profile, it would be best to ask for help in the G2G forum before creating the profile.
