Michael was born on 5th February 1932.
Michael was a university lecturer and a school teacher.
He was also an officer in the Royal Air Force.
Michael liked many sports and was good at Athletics, cricket and rugby.
He was captain of his school cricket team (Hinckley Grammar School) and played rugby for Sheffield University and the Combined Services when he was in the RAF.
During WWII Stanley and Gladys had refugee children living with them in their home in Hinckley. They had a special table that doubled as a bomb shelter.
Michael was a historian (he attained a degree from Sheffield University) and was very fond of classical music. He was chairman of South Cheshire Recorded Music Society for a while. Michael had a sound knowledge of statistical methods as shown in the MA diploma that he was awarded (by Edge Hill University Lancashire).
He had two sons with his wife Elma Blair Moss.
Michael passed away on 18th February, 2021.
