Jeanne Moreau was a French actress, singer, and director.
She was the daughter of Anatole-Désiré Moreau, who was manager of La Cloche d'Or, a restaurant. Her mother, Katherine Buckley, was English, from Lancashire. She was a former dancer at the Folies-Bergères.
Jeanne was married twice:
She received the César for Best Actress in 1992, the Cannes Festival award for Best Actress in 1960, and the BAFTA award for best actress in a foreign film in 1965.
Jeanne passed away in her Paris home on 31 July 2017.
