John was born in 1889. He is the son of James Miller and Elizabeth Emerson. He married Elsie May Mann on 22 Jan 1912 in Lamar, Colorado. They had 4 children. At the US Census of 1930, he was living with his brother, Henry in Gentry county. Elsie is not listed on the household census. His sister, Eva Holeman, placed a gravemarker for him, "J. Hairson Miller" in High Ridge Cemetery in Stanberry.
