Biography

Solomon Miller was born on 2 Feb1836 in Ohio. He was the son of John Miller and Marzy Morrison.

Solomon served in the Civil War with Company H, 13th Iowa Infantry, enlisting on 10 Feb 1861 as a fifer. He was promoted to Principal Musician on 16 Nov 1861, then reduced to ranks 21 Sep 1862. He was promoted to Third Sergeant 25 May 1863 and was mustered out 1 Nov 1864.

Solomon married Lydia Birks and had 7 children:

Solomon passed away on 1 Feb1916 at the age of 79 in Marshall County, Iowa. He was buried at Timber Creek Cemetery, Marshalltown, Marshall, Iowa.
