Best[1] identifies Hans, b.c.1655 and d. 2 Apr 1719 in Reihen (age 64) [2] as a son of Michel Meyer and Anna Hess. She notes that he was a Mennonite, and married on 19 Feb 1678, but does not record his wife's name. She identifies 2 sons, both of whom emigrated to Pennsylvania :
Hans "the younger" b.c.1684
Martin b.c.1695
Research Notes
Earliest version of the profile did not include the middle name Krebs and recorded death date as 2 Apr 1719. Changes made in Dec 2018 - introducing middle name Krebs, changing birth date to Sep 1655 and birthplace to Herisau, Appenzell Ausserrhoden, Switzerland, and changing death date to 15 Mar 1718 - appear to rely on an unsourced FamilySearch profile which has since been merged and now agrees with the details from the original Wikitree profile. Middle name has thus been removed and dates have been restored. Evidence needed to support identification of birthplace as Herisau, Appenzell Ausserrhoden, Switzerland.
Marriage record noted for Hans Meyer in Reihen in 1678 (wife not named).[3]
Burial record noted for Magdalena Meyers, age 26, wife of Hans Meÿers, on 26 May 1680 in Reihen, Sinsheim.[4] (Magdalena would thus have been born c.1654.) She can not have been the woman who was still having children in 1684 and 1695. Either :
she was Hans's first wife; or
Hans was not the father of Hans b.1684 and Martin b.1695; or
there was another Meyer family in the area at the same time.
Alternative burial record noted for Hans Meyer in Reihen in 1718, aged 64.[5]
