Biography

Timothy was born in 1868 in Grassmoor, Derbyshire to John Meakin and Susannah (Smith) Meakin. The family moved to Tibshelf, Derbyshire by 1875 and Timothy worked as a coal miner. In 1896 Timothy married Eliza Hoult. The couple remained in Tibshelf and had their daughter Eva there in 1897. At some time around 1905 they moved to Blackpool, Lancashire and Timothy got a job as a conductor on the Corporation trams. By 1919 the family had moved again to Birkenhead, Cheshire were Timothy worked as a stoker for Cammell Laird and Co., shipbuilders and daughter Eliza married Charles Smail, a chemist working for Lever Bros. at Port Sunlight, Cheshire. At some point after 1921 Timothy and Eliza moved back to Blackpool, Lancashire where Timothy died in 1953.
