I have been doing genealogy research for 20+ years, although not actively. Just within the last year have I turned the heat up and been serious about filling in the blanks. I had a DNA test done in 2014 to prove that I belonged to the Mayeux clan. In this process, I have discovered a whole new world of wonderful cousins that have opened their lives to me and welcomed in. Along the way, I am getting a historical education that I missed out while in school, and I am finding it fascinating! I come from a long line of Acadians (Cajun's). Finding that if you are related to one of them, chances are you are related to most of them!

I'm in a similar situation as you, I've gotten more interested over the years after my father's early death (and definitely still new to research but loving wikitree!) ... I'm related to so many Cajuns! And I live in SW LA, so probably 1/4 of the people around here, haha.

So, we are 7th cousins thru : Augustine (Juneau dit la Tulippe) Gaspard, who is my 1st cousin 6 times removed and her father Augustin dit la Tulippe Juneau Senior who was my 6th great uncle.

Hi Shasta, I'm trying to get these duplicate profiles merged. The other profile manager isn't ready because of the difference in the date of death. Is there anything you can do to help resolve this? Leblanc-2405 and Leblanc-1864
