Biography
William de la Mare was born about 1157 at Ashtead in Surrey and died before October 1239. Said to have lived at Harlaxton and Londonthorpe in Lincolnshire, and at Mitcham in Surrey.[citation needed]
1181: Witness to a charter from Henry II at Rouen confirming the foundation of the Abbey of Barbery at Bretteville.[1]
