Biography

Ronald Francis Mallon was born on 19/08/1910 in Brisbane. He was the son of Charlotte Hannah Teresa Walsh and Terence Mallon. [1]

MALLON—WOLFF.—Miss Charlotte Wolff, only Daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wolff, Beenleigh, whose engagement to Mr. R. F. Mallon, second Son of Mr. and Mrs. T. Mallon, West End, Brisbane, is announced. Family Notices (1934, March 8). The Courier-Mail (Brisbane, Qld. : 1933 - 1954), p. 10. Retrieved November 15, 2023

Ronald Francis Mallon married Charlotte Wolff on 27/06/1935 in Brisbane. [2]

Mallon—Wolff The wedding took place at St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Church, Beenleigh, of Mr. Ronald F. M. Mallon (younger son of Mr. G. Mallon, Brisbane, and the late Mrs. Mallon) and Miss Charlotte Wolff (only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. T. Wolff, Wolffdene). The Rev. Father O. B. Steele officiated. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a trained gown of ivory bridal satin made on classical lines, and featuring a high ruched neckline and slit sleeves. Her veil of Brussels net, lent by Mrs. E. Heck, of Pimpama Island, was held in position by a halo of silver lame and orange blossoms. She carried a sheaf of arum lilies and a white prayer book. Misses Eva Bailey and Rita Mallon (sister of the bridegroom) were bridesmaids, and there were two flower girls—Miss Coralie Silcock and Joan Akes. The bridesmaids wore frocks of white Chantilly lace, with juliette caps of silver adorned with white flowers, and carried white satin muffs trimmed with silver ribbon and white flowers. The flower girls wore white georgette frocks in early Victorian style trimmed with silver. They wore coronets of white flowers and carried silver baskets filled with rose petals. The bridegroom's brother (Mr. George Mallon, Newcastle) was best man, and the groomsman was Mr. Eric Nissen, Dalby (cousin of the bridegroom). Family Notices (1935, August 15). The Queenslander (Brisbane, Qld. : 1866 - 1939), p. 37. Retrieved November 15, 2023

Ronald Francis Mallon Birth: 19 Oct 1910 Death: 5 Sep 2001 (aged 90) Burial: Parkhouse Cemetery, Wolfdene, Logan City, Queensland, Australia Memorial #: 149049954 [Headstone also includes: Charlotte (Wolff) Mallon 1909-2002, Nicolas Terence Michael Mallon 1965-2000, and Gabriel Nicolas Mallon Kavanagh died? 2002] Bio: Parkhouse Cemetery, Wolffdene, Beaudesert Shire, Queensland, Australia. Veivers Rd & Curtis Rd, Wolffdene Qld. Submitted by Karl Smith, Feb 23, 2007. Wolffdene is located near the township of Beenleigh. Vievers Road can be acessed from the Beenleigh-Tamborine Road and follows the banks of the Albert River, continuing until it changes names to Quinzeh Creek Road, which continues to the township of Logan Village. This cemetery, which was established about 1889, falls under the Beaudesert Shire Council. The cemetery is still in use and is well maintained. There were at least 5 unmarked graves. The township of Beenleigh, which this is in, and surrounding areas were settled by many German and Irish immigrants around the 1870s under the Queensland lands allocations at the time. This is a complete reading and includes all existing stones and markers up to the day I walked the whole cemetery, with a note pad and pen, in Nov 2005. Karl Smith. [3]
