It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Karen:
Would you have anything on Rev. Edward Mayne, who was Rector of Crossduff Church Co Monaghan 1828 until his death mid 1860s. Thank you Tom Larkin e mail : [email address removed]
Thank-you to the Leaders for contacting me to express interest in staying on the Aust. Project Team, I am happy of course to continue. I am not currently on Discord, still limited Internet access, Thank-you for the link to join that channel also.
I acknowledge the hard work everyone in the Team put in this year, sooo many profiles updated, many more to be done!
Wishing you all a safe & happy Christmas season & New Year for 2024!
Thanks Karen for responding to the check-in message, and for your ongoing contributions to WikiTree and the Australia Project, they are much appreciated!
We're contacting you for the annual Australia Project membership checkin. We really appreciate your involvement in the Project in the last year. Thank you so much for all your help to improve Australian profiles on WikiTree.
Please could you reply to this message, or send me a private message to let us know if you'd like to stay on in the Project, and if you'd like to make any changes to the teams that you belong to. The teams are listed on Australia Project Teams.
If you've moved on to other things for the moment, that's absolutely fine. We'd appreciate if you'd let us know so that we can remove you from the membership list.
Over the past year, Australia Project members have been more active on Discord. We're finding it a fun way to communicate as a project. If you're not on Discord yet, here's some information - Help:Discord. If you are already on the WikiTree Discord server, let us know, and we can send you an invite link to the dedicated Australia Project server (WikiAustralia) where all our chat channels are located. It's a great way to communicate with other members on your project team/s, or for any general questions.
We're always happy to receive any ideas or suggestions that you have to make our project even better.
Looking forward to hearing from you!

Thank you for your recent edit to the profile of Christian McKenzie, my ancestor. I wanted to reach out to let you know that, in the profiles of pre-census Scottish women, the majority of women did not take or use their husband’s surname and instead continued to be known by their maiden name. In the case of Christian McKenzie, in every record known for her (such as the births of her children) she is only recorded by her maiden name, and as such I have changed her Current Last Name back to her maiden name.
This is also in keeping with guidelines and advice from the Scotland Project. I have added her husband’s surname to the Other Last Names field to avoid duplicates, but please keep this in mind when editing older Scottish profiles in the future :)
It's time for the annual Australia Project membership checkin. Thank you so much for contributing to the project and Australian profiles on WikiTree during the last year. We really appreciate you!
If you would like to stay in the project, please reply to this message or send me a private message to let us know that you would like to stay on. Alternatively, if your WikiTree and research interests have moved away from Australia, please let us know and we can remove you from the membership list for the moment. You will, of course, be very welcome to rejoin the project down the track whenever you want to.
We are also keen to know if you want to make any changes to the team or teams that you want to focus on. Take a look on Australia Project Teams to see what teams there are to choose from. If you want to discuss this, or have any questions or suggestions about the Australia Project we'd love to hear your ideas.
Thank you for you “thank-you”s. It’s very encouraging when I haves added to the Big Tree in a while to come back to “thank you “s. It uplifts my spirit.
I have a few connections on the Gedcom I have uploaded of my family tree so have matched quite a few more distant relatives. Hope I have done it right, this is fairly new to me and if not apologies please let me know.
Take care
Lucy
I'm going to do some work on a few profiles you created (Harrison and Henn) that connect to profiles I manage as they are creating some error reports, mainly the birth estimates, so difficult with Irish profiles. I'll write as much as I can in the biographies and add any research notes if needed. I'll also add a source but there is not too much that I can really add as I have been researching them and can't find any more information. I just wanted to let you know as it will come up in your watchlist feed. Please contact me if you don't agree with anything I add and we can work on it together. Thank you Karen!
Hi Karen. I'm going to do some more edits on the Henn and associated profiles. I've worked out that a few are attached to an incorrect spouse or parent, or are in the wrong generation.
Oh, hi, Karen, I don't suppose you know anything about this family?

Thank you for thanking me on the Boon profiles. I am adding templates to Dutch profiles without sources making preparations for Source-a-Thon, a WT event.
Are the Boon's in your family? Do you have Dutch roots? Please feel free to contact me and please if you have Dutch roots join the Dutch Roots Project (Netherlands Project) please!
I have been married also and never used my husband's / ex surname, It helps if spouses name is put in to link to spouse's family name when you search under a surname. In the 1800's it was probably not accepted to use your maiden surname after marriage.
Please make sure that when you are changing the current last name on a profile, that the naming convention is approved, https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Help:Name_Fields and that you have a source for the information. As an example, I am married, and I have never used my husband's last name.
Mary Laird Duncan (Duncan-8719) and Mary Halcrow (Duncan-608) are currently set as Unmerged Matches to indicate that the two profiles are not ready to be merged yet.
Please review Pre-1700 Source requirements. Geni, and other family trees, is NOT a reliable source for Pre -1700 profiles.
All projects, include it in their Help Pages, such as Scotland Unreliable Sources includes geni and other family trees.
