Thanks for all the help on the Simpsons. If you have the source of Simon's death in Zurich, probably on

Ancestry, would you please put it on his profile. The FAG is only for a cremation urn and I'm assuming it gives the place of internment, not place of death. What a successful saga! Simon Simpson

It's from a Newspaper.com obituary. I'll post it once I'm home from work (only on break right now)

The obituary specifies that the place of death and cremation was Switzerland and he was interred in Detroit https://www.newspapers.com/clip/67601569/simon-simpson-death/

Hi E. Logan, please don't continue to create profiles for those who would have migrated between 1621 and 1640 - the Great Migration era. It would be very unusual for the Puritan Great Migration to have not already created a profile for these migrants. Check very carefully, since otherwise there is so much additional work in merging profiles. Thank you.

Cheryl

Thanks Cheryl,

I guess I got a bit ahead of myself there. The profile for William Palmer had already been created and there was so little information (some of it being incorrect) on it that it wasn't possible to find a match.

I guess that does happen sometimes, E. Just want you to be aware, that there probably is a profile for these migrants, if you dig deep enough.

Have yourself a nice day. And thanks for your work on these important profiles.

Cheryl

Thanks Cheryl, I'll definitely make sure to double and triple check (and I guess I might need to join the Puritan Great Migration project or at least consult) to prevent this mistake from happening again. So sorry I caused all the extra work!

Hi E,

Thanks for having a big heart and adopting the Orphaned Profiles. This After Adopting Orphans FAQ explains the special attention adopted profiles will sometimes need.

Let me know if you have any questions on how to find and record sources, merge duplicates, clean up GEDCOM biographies, and interpret the Suggestions report. I'm here to help!

Debi

PS If you have any GEDCOM cleanup to do, there is a new tool that can help. You can read more about it in the WikiTree AGC FAQ.

Hi E,

Thanks for taking the Pre-1700 Quiz!

Because pre-1700 ancestors are shared by many descendants, working with members of the projects which coordinate them is essential. You can learn more about joining the community in How To #3 and in the Project FAQ.

Use the Pre-1700 Projects list to find one which best fits your research focus. Review the project pages for special guidelines and to learn how to collaborate with the project members.

Let me know if you have trouble finding projects which fit your focus. Click my name, then ask in the comment section of my page.

Remember to cite reliable sources in pre-1700 profiles you manage, or edit. (See: Pre-1700 Reliable Sources).
