Research Note

Census records seem to indicate that Margaret's parents are Thomas Lockwood and Alice Smith who married in 1871. I have been unable to find a birth registration for a Margaret Lockwood with a mother named Smith around 1874. There is a birth registration for and Margret Ann Lockwood with a mother named Cotterill. ^[5] (Her sister Annie also appears to have a mother named Cotterhill, although the younger children in the family are registered with a mother named Smith). I can find no evidence of Thomas Lockwood marrying anyone named Cotterhill on Family Search, Ancestry of Findmypast. I cannot find any evidence that Alice Smith ever used the name Cotterill Williams-47589 10:38, 24 April 2024 (UTC)
