Biography

According to the 1850 Census, Rebecca was born ca. 1766 in Maryland. Her parents are not yet known.^{[citation needed][1]}

She married Andreas Volck III sometime before 1792, the year before their oldest son Jacob was born. Andreas died in Jul 1814,^[2] leaving Rebecca to raise six children on her own. She is shown as the head of the household in 1820 in Surry County, North Carolina. The census shows her household contains five boys and one girl.^[3]

By 1850, Rebecca is 84 years old and his living with her son Jacob and his family in Pilot, North Carolina.^[1]
