He was the son of Honore LaVache and Madeleine Daigre, born March 18, 1753 and baptized at Port Lajoie, 1754/04/22. [1]
After deportation, Firmin returned to Acadie.[2]
He married about 1778, Jeanne Dugas, daughter of Claude Dugas and Marie Madeleine Belliveau.[citation needed]
Gregoire made a living by fishing and sailing.
On March 8, 1786, Firmin-Gregoire LaVache was one of the seventy Acadien heads of families, the founders of Arichat Parish , that thanked the lieutenant governor of Cape Breton, J.F.W. DesBarres, "for the promise of land concessions, the permission to construct a church and school, and the request for tax exemptions."[3]
He died after 1822.[citation needed]
