Biography

Leonard was born in 1856. He passed away in 1917.

He was the son of John G Jones and Maleatha Davis. Born in Surry county, NC he is a brother to Winnie, Jacob, John W, Squire, James, Thomas, Liza, Sidney C, David W and Elizabeth F Jones.

On 14 May 1879 Leonard married Susan Jackson. They are the parents of Albert Sidney, Letha Jones, Hubert and Maggie. Hubert and Maggie died in youth, of malaria.

His wife would remarry, this time to William R White, in 1894. They would have three children, Lexa Gray, Carrie and "Freezie" White.

His marker indicates he was the 387th person admitted to the new asylum, so he was likely admitted by 1886.
