Frederick Jonas was born in the City of London, England.
Fred was born[1] in London, the son of William and Ann Jonas around 1817.
Frederick Jonas was a convict after the Third Fleet transported to New South Wales

He was convicted[2] on the 10th April 1834 at London Gaol - sentenced to 7 years. He was transported to the Colony of New South Wales on the Henry Porcher, arriving in Port Jackson on the 1st January 1835. He received a Ticket of Leave[3] to work in the Mudgee Region. He received a Certificate of Freedom[4] on Friday, 10th June 1842.

He married[5] Susannah Rayner on Friday, 28th March 1851[6] in St John the Baptist's Church of England, Mudgee, New South Wales, Australia. Witnesses: John Cox, Broomby, Eliza Cox, Broomby, Signed with an 'X' with consent of father. Minister: James Gunther[6]. Together they had 8 children:

  2. Emma (Jonas) Naughton
  3. Mary Jane Jonas
  4. Frederick W. Jonas
  5. Frances Elizabeth (Jonas) Thompson
  6. Frederick M Jonas
  7. Henry Edward Jonas

Frederick passed away[7] on Monday, 5th February 1872 at Green Swamp near Bocoble, New South Wales, Australia, aged 55 years.
