John was born in 1882. He passed away in 1949.
- He was an extensively trained medical practitioner, attending:
- * Grant University, Chattanooga, Tennessee
- * Baltimore Medical College (receiving his M.D. degree)
- * Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, Maryland and
- * the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill.
He went on to practice his vocation for 50 years in Rutherford and McDowell Counties, North Carolina
