Leonard was born on 28 September 1910.[1] He was the son of Emil Ludwig Johnson and Alma Maria Anderson. He was baptized on 3 October 1910 at the Augsburg Lutheran Church.[2] He married Vernette Samuelson on 27 September 1936.[3] He worked as a welder at U.S. Steel Corp. in Gary, Indiana.[4] He was a member of First United Church of Christ.[5] He passed away on 3 January 1991.[6][7][8]
