Biography

When Catherine Jaques was born in 1901, in New Zealand, her father, Roland Jaques, was 48 and her mother, Catherine Kate Sheeran, was 37.^[1]

She married Oliver Huett Dudson on 9 January 1924, in the St. Patrick's Church, Masterton, New Zealand.^[2]

A very pretty wedding was celebrated at St. Patrick's Church, Masterton, this morning, when Miss Catherine Jaques, second daughter of Mr. and Mrs R. Jaques of Te Ore Ore, was married to Mr. Oliver Dudson, sixth son of Mr and Mrs. J. A. Dudson, of Carterton.
The bride, who was given away by her brother, Mr. Edward Jaques, of Pahiatua, looked charming in white crepe-de-chine, finished with pearl trimmings and wore the usual veil and orange blossoms. She carried a beautiful shower bouquet of white sweet peas and maiden hair fern and streamers.
The bridesmaid, Miss Ethel Jaques, sister of the bride, wore pink silk georgette, and carried a bouquet of pink sweet peas and maiden hair fern.
The officiating minister was the Rev, Father Develin.
Mr Huntley Dudson attended his brother as best man.
After the ceremony a reception was held at the residence of the bride's parents.
Mr and Mrs Dudson's future home will be in Auckland.^[3]

She died on the 7 December 1982, in New Zealand, at the age of 81.^[5]

Catherine was buried 10 December 1982, in the Avenue Cemetery - Levin, Horowhenua District, Manawatū-Whanganui, New Zealand; Block: A, Row: Burial, Plot: 127.^[6]
