William was born in 1881 at Montrose, Forfarshire, Scotland, and his birth was registered at Montrose[1]. He was the son of Robert Jamieson and Loveina Bertie.
In 1881 he aged 3 months was living with his parents, Robert (a carter aged 40) and Lovina (39) and six siblings - Jane (17), Lovina (14) and Lillias (12), all three flax mill workers, Edward (a scholar aged 7), Caroline (4) and David (2) - at 55, Castle Street, Montrose, Forfarshire[2].
William died on 16 May 1926 at Brisbane Queensland[4].
