Biography
John was born in 1866, first child of John Henry Jackson (1833-1866), a merchant living at 337 Oxford Street, Manchester in Lancashire. His mother was Julia Thomasina Dentith (1841-1922). His father died within a few months of his birth. In 1871 his mother married again, to William Raynor (1841-1928) a surgeon in Southport. They moved to London in the 1870s. John therefore attended Westminster School and then Christ Church Oxford. He completed his BA in 1889. Joined the Inner Temple Bar-at-Law in 1891[1]. He married Esther Cooper in 1896. Their early married life was in London and they then moved out to Botley House in Chiddingfold, Surrey. He passed away in 1946.
