Biography

Preston Thompson Jackson was born in Wabash, Indiana^[1] in about 1850 to parents Mitchell and Martha (Caldwell) Jackson.^[2] His family moved to a farm in Lakeland, Minnesota in 1854.^[1]
He married Alice E. Gilbert on August 27, 1874 at Valley Creek, Washington County, Minnesota. ^[3] This town or area may now be part of St. Paul.

By 1886 he was living in St. Paul, and was in the real estate business for 40 years. He was one of the founding organizers of Macalester Presbyterian church, and a member of the Minnesota Historical Society.^[1] At the time of the 1895 Minnesota Census as well as the 1900 US Census, the family was living at 1722 Summit Avenue, St. Paul, Ramsey County, Minnesota.^[6] After the death of his wife Alice in 1901, Preston remarried. He and Ellen J. Otis were married on April 28, 1904 in Minneapolis, Hennepin County, Minnesota. ^[7]
Preston died December 30, 1937 in St. Paul, Ramsey, Minnesota. ^[8]
