Her father named her as Ann Story in his 1775 last will and testament.[1]
On 15 February 1775, James and Ann Story co-signed (Ann Story by her mark) a deed selling 150 acres to Samuel Cherry for 70 pounds -- a tract beginning at a pine in William Jackson's line, thence to Samuel Cherry's corner, then various courses to Coneto Swamp, along Mayo and Jackson lines, it being land granted to John Williams by deed from the Earl of Granville dated 6 December 1760.[2]
