Brigadier Ronald Godfrey Howy Irving CBE was born on 15th July 1898 in Ballarat, Victoria, Australia. He was the second child and only son of Major General Godfrey Irving and Ada Derham.[1]
He married Violet Vaughan Hiskens in 1924 in Victoria.[2]
Ronald graduated from the Royal Military College, Duntroon, in 1919. He transferred to the 2nd Australian Imperial Force (AIF) on 13th Otober 1939 with service number NX1. He was appointed an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE).[3] Irving's final 2nd AIF posting was to Headquarters 6th Division, continuing to serve in the Australian Army Service Corps until he retired in 1953 during the Korean War with the rank of Brigadier. He was appointed a Commander of the Order of the British Empire in 1954.[4]
He passed away in 1965 in Victoria.[5]
