Alexander was born on the 11 Jan 1872 at Ballinderry to Alexander George Hill and Elizabeth Jane Hill, his birth was registered in 1872 in Rathdrum, County Wicklow, Ireland^[1].

In the 1901 census Alexander (recorded as George) (age 29), Farmer's Son, was the son of Alexander Hill in Ballinderry Lower, Ballinderry, Wicklow, Ireland^[2].

Alexander married Una Lang on 10 June 1902 in the Carlow district.^[3].

In the 1911 census Alexander (age 38), Carpenter Sawyer, was the married head of household in Limerick, Ireland.^[4].

In the 1921 census Alexander (age 47), Builders Joiner, was the married head of household at 22, Heaton Lane, Stockport, Cheshire, England.^[5]
