Robert was born about 1780. He passed away in 1820.
Robert Brady Hazard was convicted and transported to New South Wales twice: firstly as Robert Hazard, transported in 1806 on the Fortune, then as Robert Brady alias Hazard in 1814 on the Indefatigable. In his second stay in the colony, he was known as Robert Brady Hazard and was a wealthy man by the time of his death in 1820.
First conviction:
Second conviction: Robert Brady was convicted at Middlesex Gaol Delivery on 2 June 1813. He had sold on to another person an altered £50 bank bill for £25. He was sentenced to death, commuted to transportation for life. His age was recorded as 30 in his trial at the Old Bailey, which can be seen here.[1]
He was received on the Retribution hulk on 6 August 1814.[2]
He was transported on the ship Indefatigable, which departed October 1814. and arrived Sydney, New South Wales on 26 April 1815.
The convict indent for this ship has the following: Robert Brady, alias Robert Hazard, age 35 years, Native place Oxford, Jeweller, height 5ft 9 ¾in, complexion: Ruddy, Hair: Dark Brown, Eyes: Dark Hazel. Certificate issued: Ticket of Leave number 870; Conditional Pardon number 823;[3]
Marriage: On 26 September 1815 "Robert Brady Hazard" married Sarah Ward at St John's Church Parramatta: "Robert Brady Hazard age 30, prisoner ship Indefatigable of the parish of St Philip Sydney and Sarah Ward of St John Parramatta, free age 20 were married in this church by banns this 26 day of September 1815 by me Samuel Marsden". Both Robert Brady Hazard and Sarah Ward signed the register. Witnesses were Thomas Rose and Elizabeth Rose.
The Sydney Gazette reported in 1816 and 1817 that Robert Hazard of South Creek supplied beef to the Government Stores, in July 1817 Robert B Hazard of Sydney was on a list of people to pay money into a charity for people in Windsor.
He received a Conditional? Pardon on 4 February 1818.[4]
The Sydney Gazette on 11 July 1818 reported that Robert Hazard, of the Greyhound, Castlereagh Street Sydney had a spirit licence.
He obtained a land grant of 18.5 rods on Castlereagh Street, Sydney on 20 May 1819.[5]
Death: 26 April 1820 age 40, buried 28 April 1820 at Sydney. The burial was registered at St Philip's Church, Sydney.[6] He was buried in Devonshire Street Cemetery.

Occupation (in England) jeweller; (in Australia) farmer and publican.
According to the book The All-time Australian 200 Rich List by William D. Rubinstein, Allen & Unwin, Crows Nest, NSW, Australia, 2004, Robert rates as the 132nd most richest person ever in Australia. ( ! )[7]
