Bridget (Hayle) Chamberlayne was born in Warwickshire, England.
Birth and Parentage
Bridget was born in Charlecote, Warwickshire, and was christened on 18 October 1607. She was the daughter of Richard Hayle Esq. and his unknown wife. [1]
Probably in 1625, when she was 18, she married the 30 year old Edward Chamberlayne of Princethorpe, Warwickshire, Esq, an escheator and feodary for Warwickshire. Princethorpe was a small village about 15 miles north east of Charlecote.[3]Professor Anne Hughes writes that Edward Chamberlayne of Princethorpe, escheator and feodary, married twice,[4]but if this were the case, Edward's first wife would have been buried at the Chamberlayne burial site, which is not the case.
Bridget and Edward had ten sons and two daughters.
Children of Edward Chamberlayne
Edward Chamberlayne ('the elder') b. 14 Mar 1626 at Princethorpe, Warks, d. 4 Apr 1659, Stretton on Dunsmore, Warks[5]Married Eleanor Cave, daughter of Sir John Cave.
When her husband Edward died, he made stipulations in his will that his two young sons Edward and George should be sent to boarding school. This was in all likelihood, Rugby School.
