Hi Stacy,

Thank you for all the work that you have done for the Scotland Project. As you have not responded to our recent check in messages I presume that you wish to leave the project.

If you'd like to re-join us in the future, you can do so by replying to our current G2G Welcome post which is linked from the project page at https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Project:Scotland

All the best Sheena

Hi Stacy,

It is once again time for our annual Scotland Project check-in. Please respond within the next three weeks to let us know:

•If you would like to continue as a project member •If you are happy with your current teams or would you like to join a different team •How much time per month (on average) you spend working on Scottish profiles •Anything you’d like the Scotland Project to do more of in the future

You can respond to this message by posting a reply below or sending me a private message on WikiTree. If we don’t hear from you within the next three weeks we’ll assume your interests have changed or you are no longer able to participate in the Scotland Project at this time, and your badge will be removed. If your circumstances change later you will be welcome to reapply for membership.

On behalf of the Scotland Project, I would like to thank you for your commitment to the project's goals. Every single contribution you make helps improve Scottish profiles!

Sheena - Scotland Project Membership Coordinator

I hope you are well. I haven't heard from you about the Scotland Project check-in, but hope to hear from you soon.

Hello Stacy, I sent you a message on March 29, did you receive it? Please check your Spam folder. I will also resend it. Deb
Hi Stacy! Hope this finds you well.

It's time for our annual Scotland Project check-in!

This year we are hoping to learn what our membership would like to accomplish over the next 12 months. In case you aren't aware, this year is WikiTree's ""Year of Connections"" and the Project's leadership would like to contribute to this in as many ways as possible.

We would appreciate it if you would share your thoughts and ideas with us on how we can accomplish this goal. We would also appreciate it if you would provide some feedback on our existing goals, including:

  • If you have not yet signed up to help on one of the project's teams, which team(s) would you be interested in joining?
  • How often should we provide a Project Newsletter?
  • Have you participated in the Tartan Trail? If not, is this something you'd be interested in doing?
  • Do you have a question(s) that we could add to a Frequently Asked Questions page?
  • Any suggestions or ideas you have on ways to improve the Scotland Project in general

We continue to communicate with our Project members via Google Group (official) and Discord (unofficial), as well as G2G. You may also reach out to any of the Project leaders via WikiTree's internal messaging system at any time.

Thank you for all you do to help the Scotland Project become a knowledge hub for Scottish genealogical research! We wish you all the best in 2022!

Sincerely, Amy Gilpin on behalf of the Scotland Project Leaders

Hello

It’s time for a Project check-in!

Scotland Project Leaders check in with you at least once a year to see how you are doing. With the changes happening around the world, we understand that life is hectic right now.

What are you planning to work on for the Scotland Project this year? Are you happy with the team(s) you part of, or would you like to make some changes?

This time round, we’re also looking for feedback on the use of Google Group and Discord. Do you use one or both of these? If you don’t use either of them, what is the best way to ensure you receive Project communications? If you would like to join us on Google Group or Discord, let us know in your response.

Hi Stacy,

I sent you a message a while ago on behalf of the England Project Leaders and have not heard back from you. I hope you are well.

One of the requirements of membership in the England Project is that you respond to the six-monthly check-ins.

I have assumed that you are no longer participating in the England Project and removed you from our list of members. You are, of course, most welcome to re-apply to join the project at any time by signing-up on the project’s G2G welcome post.

Thank you for all your work on the England Project!

Best wishes, Amy

Hi Stacy,

We've not yet received a reply from you regarding the message we recently sent about the England Project. We hope you're okay! We realise that your interests may have moved on, however, and so of we don't hear from you by the end of December we'll presume that you wish to be removed from the Project. Of course, you'll be welcome to rejoin us at a later time if you wish :)

Regards, Amy, Lizzie & Joan.

Hi Stacy,

It's that time of the year again: check-in time! As England Project Leaders, we like to check in with you every six months or so to see how things are progressing. Back in May, we didn't ask for a response due to the rapid emergence of Covid-19 because we understood that people's lives were changing rapidly. While we are still living in a Covid world, we do need to hear back from you this time around.

First of all, how are you doing? What are you currently working on? Are you happy with the team(s) you're in, or would you like to change things up?

Secondly, we're looking for some feedback on the Google Group and our Discord server. Do you use either or both of these? If you don't use either, why not? Do you have any suggestions on how we can improve participation and collaboration, either generally or for you personally?

Looking forward to hearing from you,

Amy, Joan & Lizzie.

Hello. Charles Lee Corey is my 2nd great-grandfather. I would love to find out who his parents are to begin with. He apparently was born in Feb 1852 in Indiana (though could even be 1851), and he died Sept 24, 1901 in Chicago. My mother tried to obtain a copy of his death certificate, but they did not send her that. Apparently, the death certificates from that time don’t show the parents either, so I am totally stuck on this. Any help is appreciated!
posted by Stacy (Harter) Mendes
He does not show up in our databases. I have researched the family for a few hours and can produce a report for you. Send me your email address; you can use private messaging to do that.

There is a William Cory family in Indiana that had a child Charles Cory of the correct age, but Charles is a common name and there seems to be a lot of confusion over Charles L and Charles C. Yours Charles is Charles Lee Corey in all the records. He was a firefighter that was killed when a wall collapsed on him.

Thanks Earl! I just sent you a private message.

Regarding Charles Corey. There is a Cory Family Society, http://www.coryfamsoc.com/ that has the 3 main Cory/Corey line genealogies online. If you can give me dates and places I can do a search. I descend from the William of Tiverton RI line, the other ones are John of Southhold NY and Thomas/John of Chelmsford MA. try searching on the alternate spelling on Wiki too.
Yes the Cory Family Society is a great source. I too come from the William of Tiverton line. Does anyone have the dates of birth and death or a middle name on Charles from Indiana? I count at least 20 Charles Corey’s in the family.

Hi Cousin!

Are you in any DNA databases? My line is William, John, John, John, Sheffield, John, William, Ray, Ruth and my dad William Wilson

Jennifer [email address removed]

Yes and my uncle with the last name of Corey. My lines is William, John, John, John, Benedict, Archibald, Aron, Myron, Charles, Clifford, Mary.

I see we diverge with Sheffield and Benedict. My dad's (William Wilson) DNA is on 23 and Gedmatch M180959 I'm also on Ancestry, MyHeritage and FTDNA but getting a match with my dad is more likely.
My kit gedmatch kit is A298869 also on ancestry, my heritage, ftdna. Sincerely Thomas Corey Peterson

Hi Stacy

Thanks for taking the Pre-1700 Quiz. As Pre-1700 ancestors are shared by many descendants, working within a project is essential

Please ensure locations are entered on all profiles and data matches dates of profile. Avoid abbreviations, add sources with citations & links for sources to support the data. From wiki ID go to Research to find sources

Thanks for joining a project, great to see your enthusiasm. Explore Pre-1700 Projects list to find links to your research focus, whether time period, location or topic  For help with tags, click  editing your tags

Hello Stacy!

You've been a member for a while so I thought I would check in to see how it's going. Have the How-Tos been helpful or left you with questions? Most of us have questions after all that information!

I want to help! Click my name, send me a private message or ask in the comment section of my page. Sometimes links don't work in emails. If that's happened to you, check the public comments on your profile. The links will work from there.

PS To find reliable sources for your profiles, go to the Family Tree & Tools tab; select Genealogy Research and scroll down near the bottom of that list and select Research with RootsSearch. There are over 20 websites to access from there.

Hi Cindy! Thank you for the message. I definitely need to look into how it works further, but I’m excited to learn, and think WikiTree is a great idea as a whole.
