Sylvanius Hamrick was born on August 31, 1832 in North Carolina, United States. [2]He married first Harriet Elizabeth Killian and they had 11 children.[3] He married second Martha Jane Smith.[4]

Sylvanius served in the Civil War. He enlisted as a Private on 10 May 1862 in Capt. Thomas Williams' Company L, 36th Regiment, Georgia Infantry .[5] He was captured at Battle of Vicksburg on 4 Jul 1863, and paroled 9 July 1863. [6] Following this, he fought in the war until its close. [7][8]

Sylvanius died on March 13, 1913. He was buried at Hinton Cemetery in Hinton, Pickens County, Georgia, USA.[9]

Great profile. Daddy is Jessie Hamrick son of John Hamrick and Barbara Mauney. I dont have Sylvanus Hamrick's mum. but his dad, Jessie married a 2nd wife Elizabeth Eaton and she is older than most people have. DOB 1816. Got her on census.

Hamrick-445 and Hamrick-444 appear to represent the same person because: Totally my fault. i was trying to confirm who he was and his parents, took 6 hrs. my fault not yours
