I propose to add to the recent part of the tree where it touches my famly and so my Grandmother's notes fill in blanks and to try and add other sources the community will recognise. I have a tree but realise it is embarrassingly lacking in evidence, so hope you are happy with me adding what I DO know and updating mine to make it accurate before sharing.

Hi, Anastasia

Congratulations on certifying to work on pre-1700 profiles! It’s very important to read and understand the Pre-1700 Profiles page. These profiles for deep ancestors are shared by many, and collaborating on them works best if we all follow the guidelines in the certification quiz.

Primary sources should always be added to pre-1700 profiles at the time they are created. If you don't have a source for a pre-1700 profile, it would be best to ask for help in the G2G forum before creating the profile.

It is a very useful quiz. I had seen lots of Ancestry pages, where my response was: that looks odd. To know how it is compiled is interesting.

Hi Anastasia,

I would like to invite you to join the KiwiCrew in the upcoming Connect-A-Thon. Participation is easy, simply create new profiles for unconnected people, with luck they will connect with the World Tree.

Simply post an answer on this Post saying "Yes, I'd like to participate with the KiwiCrew"

Add THE_KIWI_CREW to your followed tags. for future updates.

Once registered, you will receive your Connect-a-Thon badge and a special invitation to our Kiwi Crew Discord Server.

For more information, view the KiwiCrew Team page

Happy WikiTreeing, Campbell

Hi,

I am very happy to help. I have two reservations: 1 The tree-stuff is done when my family do not have demands on me and that weekend may be busy. 2 I am not actually a Kiwi. My grandmother had lots of siblings and cousins who set up in NZ, either evangelising or farming. The living cousin (not entered from deference) I am most proud of is a Kiwi, but not I.

Does this help?

Hi, I couldn't tell if you are a Kiwi or not, but you do manage some New Zealand profiles :-)

This event is a fun way to add missing links to family, you don't have to join Kiwi Crew, there are many other teams for counties or topics. see the list in the link below.

More confusing I found the following James Gascoigne Lynde bt 25/3/1816 St Margaret's Westminster son of James Gascoigne Lynde but apparently he married a Susanna Weller But on another site he married Julia Cundy No issue she died in Brisbane aged 47 5/3/1875 Another entry a Catherine Lynde married Edward Webb who was a Surgeon Try googling 'James Gascoigne Lynde' and see for yourself

posted by Roger Churm
James G L the elder had a son of the same name whose marriage to Susanna Weller is on the UK BMD register (Westminster 1841 Jun Vol 1 p 407 (and another mis written as 497 but there is no corresponding entry)). It was Henry G L who married Julia Cundy also in the UK BMD register st Geo Hannover Sq M 1860 vol 1a page 288 . He Henry, is recorded as dying In brisbane with no issue by a family member, whose site I give. That same site mentions Catherin marrying Webb. i haven't added him yet or his grave, which apprently includes HGL.

The site marryng JGL to Julia has mis-written or misread.

I am even surer that the two people are the same as the people you list in the census are in the tree I found. Can we merge them, keeping the information from both?

If I am being an idiot and you are unsure as to whether i am chancing the infomation I give, the reason that I trust the family site I cite is that all the information that touches my family (which it does twice) is accurate when compared with my grandmother's notes. That does not mean I am going off assuming they are all descended from Bluetooth, which is way beyond family notes.

Thansk ou for asking.

I think I am annoying the family. I enjoy finding links to existing people.

Thankyou for the indian search link. That is very useful!!

I suspect I need to augment the sources and add to the biog

Hello,

One of the intriguing documents in my mother's collection is a transcript of a letter, remembering the days of the buildng of Belgravia. From the recollections about 'my aunt this' my grandfather so and so', one can construct a tree, but the dates are just before most searches. From guessing dates, I have found the mother of the writer of the letter on Ancestry.com (and the writer, and her brother and grandparents) and they match witn the notes on the letter. I have also found graves on find a grave that match with the middle names etc. Is that good enough, wiht a precis of the letter? The letter itself is 16 foolscap pages long

Hi Anastasia

You posted this on your own profile, so no one was alerted to reply. I have just seen it while carrying out other Greeter duties.

The letter is fine as a source. Just cite it as Transcript of letter dated ddmmyyyy from x to y in the posession of z

Hello,

I hope this gets to you. I found a duplicate that was not matched up and offered when I entered her first, becuase the other entry had no dates and was part of a Gedcom import. I have suggested a merge but there is no response. Can I go further/ do something else?

Hope you are enjoying life Anastasia

Anastasia, would you please send me the links to the two profiles so I can take a look at them?

Thanks,

Pip

Pip,

Thank you so much for responding.

I thihk that Ella Von-der-Heyde-18, is the same as Von-der-Heyde-6

My source gives Gustav as the father. It states Van der Heyde but the BMD and photo attached to Ella' Blanche with dates show that Von der Heyde is correct. The printed booklet was printed before Betty was born.

I also think that Von-der-Heyde-13 and Von-der-Heyde-3 are the same as this source from NZ past papers also attached to Ella's daughter Betty, gives Ella's daughter as niece of Mrs Matson.

I hope this is sufficient.

with many thanks

Anastasia

Hi Anastasia

I noticed that you posted on Elizabeth (Stapleton) Vavasour's profile. I'm sure that the profile manager will be looking at that.

You are welcome to use our database and G2G Forum for research. If you are interested in collaborating on the Stapleton family and contributing to our shared tree, then you should upgrade. There is a link under your name, next to Guest Member on your profile to Upgrade

If you choose to upgrade and you have information and sources to help improve the profile, your collaboration with the profile manager would go a long way in making improvements. If this is your ancestor, you will be able to connect the profile to your branch of the tree. With your help, we can improve the story of your ancestors. Do be aware that work on Pre-1500 profiles requires certification. See Pre-1500 Profiles.

Hi

Thank you. I have found someone who ties up and is an orphen. Can I take over the profile? I was looking at help and did not find it immediately. No hurry as you must be busy.

You can adopt it! On the profile in the orange band below the death information, there should be a link to "adopt this profile." Clicking that link will set you as the profile manager. Don't be surprised if you hear from me again after you adopt. I usually thank people and share some tips.
