Thanks for taking the Pre-1700 Quiz!

Pre-1700 ancestors can be shared by many descendants, so collaboration is essential. You can learn more about joining the community in How To #3 and in the Project FAQ.

The Germany Project might fit your current research focus. If not, use the Pre-1700 Projects list to find other possibilities. Review the project page to learn about resources and guidelines as well as how to collaborate with the project members.

Have questions? Ask in the comments section of my profile.

Remember to cite reliable sources in pre-1700 profiles you manage, or edit. (See: Pre-1700 Reliable Sources).

Hi Roni

As you returned to WikiTree a few weeks ago now, I thought I would check in to see how you are getting on with the site.

Has the New Member How-To been helpful, or left you with any questions?

I am here to help with any problems or queries you may have. To contact me, log into WikiTree and go to your profile. Use the ‘Reply’ link below my comment so that I will be notified. Alternatively, you can click my name to visit my profile, where you can send a private message, or post a comment on my profile page.

Wendy ~ WikiTree Greeter

Things are going well as I rebuild and retrieve profiles I added years ago. Slowly going through each profile to see what new information I can add and slowly getting each one sourced. Big thank you to all who have helped me with this.

Roni,

Your profile merge is complete and you are reconnected to your twig of the tree. Please do let me know if you have any questions about how WikiTree works, even if they seem minor. My rule of thumb when I started was to search for an answer for five minutes, then reach out to my Greeters, and then resume searching. I might have found the answer before they got back to me but they sometimes offered a different way of doing the same thing which was easier. We are always here to help.

See you in the branches,

Debi ~ WikiTree Greeter

PS We have a research tool that makes finding reliable sources easier. I use it all the time and it helps me remember different places to check. To give it a try, go to the Family Tree & Tools tab; select Genealogy Research, scroll down near the bottom of that list, and select Research with RootsSearch (use your WikiTree email & password). There are over 20 websites to access from there. You can read more about the tool in the RootsSearch FAQ.

Hi Roni,

Thanks for having a big heart and adopting the Orphaned Profiles of your family. I noticed your note to Laura about having an earlier account. That still exists and should be merged with this one to keep things straight. I'm going to send a note to the SysOps Team and ask them to do that for you.

This After Adopting Orphans FAQ explains the special attention adopted profiles will sometimes need. One quick way to find the profiles you adopted is by searching your Contributions List for the word "adopted". You can find a quick link to your Contributions List in the My WikiTree dropdown menu.

Let me know if you have any questions on how to find and record sources, merge duplicates, clean up GEDCOM biographies, and interpret the Suggestions report. I'm here to help!

Debi

PS If you have any GEDCOM cleanup to do, there is a new tool that can help. You can read more about it in the WikiTree AGC FAQ.

Sorry for taking so long to reply. Thank you for the welcome. Not new here as I created my first tree least 6 years ago. Since logging back in here, I have been gathering up all the orphans I left behind, unintentional I assure you. Thank you for the welcome and I am looking forward to working on my tree here again. Hi Roni!

I'm not exactly sure what you're referring to. Can you give me an example of the letters and numbers or a profile page I can look at? Thanks!

Hi Roni, It looks like you may have some outstanding merges that need attention. You can find them by following the link at the top of this page under >Find> Pending merges> Merges awaiting my approval. Thanks for helping with Wikitree! And you may have found a long lost relative.
