Alexander Glasgow was born on 19th November 1879 at Antigua, Queensland, Australia. He was the fourth son of Samuel Glasgow and Mary Anderson.[1]
He served in the Second Boer War, as a Private in the 1st Queensland Mounted Infantry.[2]
When Alexander and his older brother, Bill, returned from the Boer War they purchased their father's grocery store in Gympie. Bill soon tired of the shop and went farming, leaving the business to Alexander.
He married Margaret Carroll on 30th October 1916 at Brisbane, Queensland.[3]
He served in the during the Second World War, in the 1st Garrison Battalion; enlisted 19th October 1939, discharged 15th February 1940.[4]
He passed away on 20th July 1952 at Gympie, Queensland, Australia.[5]
