Gertrude Ann Geappen (married name Cosgrove) was born on 3 October 1882 in Hobart, Tasmania, Australia, the daughter of Mary Elizabeth Geappen (nee O'Brien) and James Geappen.[1][2]
She married Robert Cosgrove on 10 January 1911 in Hobart.[2] Their children were:[2]
Gertrude was appointed to the Order of the British Empire as a Dames Commander (DBE) on 1 January 1947, for public service in Tasmania.[2]
Gertrude died on 21 July 1962.[2]
