Biography

Antonio (Gannoni) Giannoni is Notable.

Antonio Gannoni emigrated to South Australia on the Recovery, arriving at Port Adelaide on 19 Sep 1839. ^[1] He was the first Italian to settle in South Australia. ^[2]

He married Matilda Deputron on 13 November 1849 at Holy Trinity Church, Adelaide. ^{[3] [4]}

She died age 33 on 5 February 1854 ^[5] and was buried in West Terrace Cemetery. ^[6]

He married Ann Tickner on 16 Aug 1854 at St John Church, Adelaide, ^[7] Ann died on 27 May 1855. ^[8]

Two months later he married Mary Clapton (who had emigrated to South Australia with Ann Tickner on the Standard) on 28 July 1855 at St John Church. ^[9]

He passed away age 69 ^[10] and was buried in West Terrace Cemetery. ^{[11] [12]}

GANNONI. On the 6th September, at his residence, High-street, Kensington, Antoni Gannoni, aged 70 years. A colonist of 44 years; arrived by the Recovery, 1839. ^[13]
