The England Project Leaders like to touch base with each of our members periodically to make sure everything is going well. This is our formal annual check-in with you.

Are you happy to with your current project team choices? Would you like to join any other teams?

Also, we would really like to hear which team is currently your highest priority. If you are a member of more than one team, could you please rank them from highest priority to lowest? Thank you! If you don’t see yourself as being part of a team, please let us know.

We also welcome any feedback on things you would like to see the project do more of in the future.

Hi Maureen,

We all did a great job this weekend, thank you, a job well done. The grand total for the event was 76,995 profiles created. The Mighty Oaks contributed 6,258 of those.

If you open up your contribution list you can review your work and possibly do some tidying up, before you orphan the profiles ;)

The Connect A Thon was fun, we hope you enjoyed yourself and are recovering. Thank you for joining us, it is much appreciated. Our combined score was 11718. Considering the heatwave in England we did really well. You did a great job. The total overall figure was 87,731 new profiles added (some 3,000 more than last time) and numerous connections made.

Hi Maureen,

Just a belated acknowledgment of your greeting from March. As you no doubt know, I'm a newbie to WikiTree, & my tech skills can be best described as a work in progress. My primary family tree is on Ancestry, & I have more basic trees on My Heritage & Family Search. I'm hoping that the resources available through WikiTree will help me break through some of my brick walls, but I think my first step is to learn to navigate the WikiTree format. Any suggestions you have (think of me as a WikiTree toddler) to start this process would be much appreciated! Regards, Jenny Marsden

It says my tree is posted on Wiki but when I click on it all I get is me on the left and spaces to enter relatives. Can I upload a GED?

Saw your post about connecting. I just wanted to post a quick tip. Go sideways...I started out thinking the older the profile the more likely I'd run into a connection. Didn't happen, I get more connections by adding the children and finding their spouses. Just a tip.

It's that time of the year again: check-in time! As England Project Leaders, we like to check in with you every six months or so to see how things are progressing. Back in May, we didn't ask for a response due to the rapid emergence of Covid-19 because we understood that people's lives were changing rapidly. While we are still living in a Covid world, we do need to hear back from you this time around.

First of all, how are you doing? What are you currently working on? Are you happy with the team(s) you're in, or would you like to change things up?

Secondly, we're looking for some feedback on the Google Group and our Discord server. Do you use either or both of these? If you don't use either, why not? Do you have any suggestions on how we can improve participation and collaboration, either generally or for you personally?

Thank you for adding your DNA Test to your profile on WikiTree. Getting Started with DNA will tell you more about how DNA kits are used on WikiTree.

DNA at WikiTree provides a visual way for you to find others who have tested and have the potential of having common ancestors. To get the best results, you need to continue adding sourced profiles for your ancestors until you can connect to existing profiles in WikiTree. If you have exhausted what you know on one line, try a different one. 24 hours after you connect to an existing profile, your test will have populated on the profiles of your ancestors and their descendants, where others with potential matches may also appear.
