Biography

Mary (Farrelly) Alderman was born in the Colony of South Australia (1836-1900)

Mary Philomena Farrelly was born in 1895 in Adelaide, South Australia (Australia). She was the daughter of Michael Farrelly. [1]

She obtained work as a public servant.

Mary married Harry Alderman, a barrister, on 29th October 1919 in St Francis Xavier's Cathedral, Adelaide. [2] The couple had five children:

  1. Colin Graham (1921-)
  2. Mary Philomena (1922-)
  3. Thomas Graham (1924-)
  4. Judith (1927 [3] -)
  5. son (c1930-)

When Harry was knighted in June 1962 Mary became entitled as Lady Alderman. Sadly, Harry passed away just thirteen days later.
