Hi Marian,

It looks like we're both descendants of Levi Bailes. My great grandfather, Larry Thaddeus Bailes, was his son and the brother of your (great?) grandmother, Izetta Jane. We have another connection, too. We both married into Roberts families.

Hi Marian,

Thanks for taking the Pre-1700 Quiz!

Pre-1700 ancestors can be shared by many descendants, so collaboration is essential. You can learn more about joining the community in How To #3 and in the Project FAQ.

The England Project may fit your research focus. If not, use the Pre-1700 Projects list to find other possibilities. Review the project page to learn about resources and guidelines as well as how to collaborate with the project members.

Have questions? Ask in the comments section of my profile.

Remember to cite reliable sources in pre-1700 profiles you manage, or edit. (See:https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Help:Pre-1700_Profiles#Cite_reliable_sources).

Marion, I never met any of my father's family besides his parents and an aunt on his mother's side. I know nothing of the Durham family but would love to hear whatever you know. I have heard stories of my fathers Grandmother Johanna listening to her baseball games and asking my grandfather to turn my grandmothers chattering down so she could hear the game. Sounds like she was feisty!

Marian, thanks so much for adding spouses and information to some of the daughters of Mark Shelton. Your additions brought to my attention that I adopted them several years ago and had done nothing to source them! My bad. So will be checking to see what else needs to be done.

Marian, regarding the correct surname for Mariann/Marion Rozier, I can go ahead and update her profile if you have a source for your info. Thanks!

Marian, I see that we have a common ancestor on our Durham line. Another relative of mine is researching her line and it is probably connected to ours. In your research, have you ever run across an Elizabeth Durham born about 1810? We are trying to connect the dots...Jan Beamon

Marian Durham Roberts is researching the Durham family. My father was Aaron W. Durham who married my mother, Mytris Cleo Ingram in 1932. Both are deceased.
Hi Marian

Welcome to WikiTree! The initial email from us has helpful links that will get you started on WikiTree, which is not like any genealogy site you’ve ever used.

WikiTree is different because our goal is to have one profile per person, and that means we all work together as a BIG collaborative team!

What brings you to WikiTree? Do you have research you’d like to share? Are you interested in how your family fits into the big tree? When you confirm your email address, you’ll see a Volunteer option on your profile page. Click that and leave us a short message here on your profile about your genealogical interests. A Greeters Project volunteer will be happy to confirm your membership, and you’ll be on your way!

Welcome to the family! We’re really glad you’re here. Michael F. Harris
