John Draper was born about 1631.[1] A John Draper was transported to Virginia by Captain Thomas Willoughby. Captain Willoughby claimed his 50 acres for transporting John on 19 March, 1643.[2]
The first will on record in Westmoreland County is that of John Tasker leaving his estate to John Draper on 12 January 1654.
In his will, dated 14 January 1653, John left his gun to his friend William Spence, one heifer to Anne daughter of George Watts and his house and plantation to John Bennett.[3] It was witnessed by George Berry, Geo Watts (x), Daniel Cox (x), Wm Spence (x). Administration of John Bennett the principal legatee.[1] On 17 December 1653 John Draper appeared in Northumberland County court as a witness; he was aged 22 years or thereabouts. [Fleet p.393][1]
John Draper died 20 Jan 1656 in Westmoreland, Virginia Colony.
John's will probated 20 June 1656. "An inventory of estate of John Draper deceased. Appraised by Gabriel Odyer and William Straddler. 28 March 1656. Total value 5520 lb tobacco. Exhibited 20 June 1656 by John Bennett admr and recorded."[1]
If John Draper was born in 1631 then Eleanor is his sister, not his daughter. Or there is a John Draper the father and a John Draper the son.
