Biography

Notables Project
Paul Dirac is Notable.
Paul Dirac was awarded the Nobel Prize.

P.A.M. Dirac, as his name is sometimes abbreviated, was one of the leading physicists of the 20th century. He received the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1933.

Perhaps the most approachable biography of Dirac is The Strangest Man: The Hidden Life of Paul Dirac, Quantum Genius.[1]

Dirac is known for the Dirac equation and a number of other brilliant contributions to physics. He is almost as well known for his reticence, tendency to take the statements of others literally, and general aversion to socializing. Interestingly, he married the very outgoing Margit (Manci) Wigner, sister of Eugene Paul Wigner (1902-1995). They raised two children from her first marriage, Judith (Balázs) Thompson (1927-1968) and Gabriel Andrew (Balázs) Dirac (abt.1925-abt.1984) and two of their own.

The starting point for this profile comes from Wikipedia, but I will add more direct sources and attempt to expand the biography. As is standard on wikitree, improvements by others are welcome.
