Olivier is the French form of the name and Oliver the English.
He was born, say, 1038. [1]
Leo van de Pas, cites Marlyn Lewis to state that [[Dinan-79|Oliver Dinan] was the son of Geoffroi, Vicomte de Dinan. [3]
Son of Joscelyn and Orguen. [1]
Father Geoffrey Josceline de Dinan, (1014-1070)[2] Mother Salome Orguen de Leon, (1015-1070)[2]

His grandmother was Roianteline. [1]
Roianteline, wife of Haimon Ier, is the daughter of Riwald, "echanson" (cupbearer ?) of the Dol bishop Wicohen, according to D-, or she is a sister or a niece of Wicohen, for B- and C- [4]
Mother's Father Morvan Vicomte Deleon: (????-1065) [2] Mother's Mother Salome Decoezou" (????-1055)[2]
His presence at Hastings in 1066 is both asserted and disputed. [5]
He married Ganna[1]
In 1068 in Dinan he married Ganna (Gunnor) de Chateauganne (1048-1070)[2]
Olivier I and Ganna had at least 3 sons:
Here is an attempt of reconstruction of the "Vicomtes de DINAN" family, from the origins (Dinan, Côtes d'Armor, Brittany). You are welcome to complete, correct, or debate about the likeliness of what follows. PS: sorry for the english used, since I speak better french (or Breton)...
1. Haimon Ier, comte in Domnonee (north Brittany). d. bef 1055. He married Roianteline, a possible sister, or niece, of Wicohen, archbishop of Dol. This Wicohen is sometimes said to be a brother of Juhel Berenger, comte of Rennes. Roianteline and Haimon Ier inherited from Wicohen their possession in Dinan and surroundings. Their children were:
1.1 Haimon II, vicomte of Dol and Dinan 1.2 Josselin, vicomte de Dinan, married abt 1047 Orgwen. Some times ago, I read on this list that Josselin (called strangely Geoffroy Ier) was the son of Haimon II. But his name is definitely Josselin, or Gauscelin (Costelinus) and is mentionned on a charte (1040) concerning Berthe, widow of Alain III of Brittany, giving the entire paroisse of Plougasnou to the Saint-Georges abbey in Rennes.
1.2.1 Olivier Ier, vicomte of Dinan, married Ganna. he was at Hastings in 1066 Olivier Ier and Ganna had at least 3 sons: 1.2.1.1 Geoffroy Ier, vicomte of Dinan, d. 1123, married Ozio "Radegonde Orieldis". 1.2.1.2 Rivallon "Le Roux", who went on crusade in 1115. He is the ancestor of the Dinan-Lanvallay and Dinan-Coetquen lineages, but I have no information on these; any information on the Lanvallay and Coetquen is welcome. 1.2.1.3 Gervais Geoffroy and Ozio had: 1.2.1.1.1 Olivier II, d. 1155, Vicomte of Dinan-nord (1123), m. 1096 Agnoree de Penthievre, daughter of Etienne de Penthievre and Havoise de Guingamp. They are said to have at least 8 sons, but I know only 2 of them. They are the ancestors of the Dinan-nord lineage (see A below) 1.2.1.1.2 Alain Ier, d. 1157, vicomte of Dinan-Becherel. Whether he or his brother is the husband of Agnoree de Penthievre is still in debate. But I have the preference for Olivier. He is the ancestor of the Dinan-Becherel lineage 1.2.1.1.3 Guillaume l'Abbe 1.2.1.1.4 Roland 1.2.1.1.5 Josselin, d. 1166, lord of Ludlow. He is th father of Sybille, d.1212, wife of Hugh de Plugenet, and of Havoise, wife of Fulke FitzWarin
1.2.2 Bertrand, seigneur of Jugon. He also was at Hastings in 1066. He is the father of: 1.2.2.1 Olivier 1.2.2.1.1 Geoffroy Seigneur of Jugon. b bef 1074
1.3 Junkeneus, archbishop of Dol, founder of Combourg. 1.4 Rivallon "Capra Canuta", seigneur of Dol and Combourg. he married Arembourge du Puiset. He is the ancestor of the Dol lineage: 1.4.1 Guillaume, abbot of Saint-Florent 1.4.2 Jean, seigneur of Dol 1.4.2.1 Rivallon, sr of Dol 1.4.2.1.1 Gesdouin, sr of Dol, who married Noga. 1.4.2.1.1.1 Noga, married Conan Ier de Penthievre 1.4.2.1.1.2 Jean, seigneur of Dol 1.4.2.1.1.3 Jean de Dol, married Raoul II de Fougeres, son of Henri de Fougeres and Olive de Penthievre. 1.5 Innogwen 1.6 Hodierne, abbess of Saint-Georges de Rennes Haimon Ier also had an illegitimate son: 1.7 Salaun (Salomon), seigneur du Guarplic in Saint-Coulomb (near Saint-Malo). This last son is supposed (but is this really reliable ??) to be the ancestor of the "du Guesclin" family.

Is he the son of Geoffrey or Joscelyn? Those are different names for different people, presumably from different sources. By an Orguen, or is it Salome? Those are irreconcilable names, aren't they? Surely it's our job here to not merely agglomerate contradictory sources, but research and decide-- to be correct. As it is now, this bio can't be.
Suggestion: the profile manager should pick the best-supported or most persuasive source, and stick with it. Link this man to his family. And then shift the contradictory alternatives into a clearly-labelled research notes or disputed origins section of the bio. Rather than laundry listing stuff that can't all be true at the same time.
