Marie Elmina Després was born on 28 Feb 1897 in Cocagne, New Brunswick, the daughter of Joseph Despres and Amanda Sutton.[1][2]
In the 1901 census Mélina, age 4, was a daughter in Dundas, Kent, New Brunswick.[3]
