Biography
Sylvestre Després was born on 24 Aug 1870 and baptized on 3 Nov 1870 in Cocagne, New Brunswick, the son of Sylvain Després and Victoire Martin.[1][2] His godparents were Eugène Després and Marie Anne Després.
In the 1871 and 1881 census Sylvestre was listed with his parents and siblings in Dundas, Kent, New Brunswick.[3][4]
Sylvestre, age 22, married Marie Jeanne Goguen, age 22, daughter of Denis Goguen and Mary Watson, on 21 Oct 1894 in Cocagne.[5][6]
In the 1901 census Sylvain [sic], age 30, fisherman, was the head of household in Dundas, Kent, New Brunswick.[7]
