Hi I'm ClaireSuzy, (I answer to either Claire or Suzy) I like to bring families together, across oceans. Mostly via sourcing and connecting. I also dabble in DNA, not as a be all to end all, but as a back up to confirm when records may not have been available. Families are families and our stories are our stories are our stories are our memories.
Been bitten by this geneaology bug for about 30 years since finding some handwritten notes in the loft (from my father-in-law)
Have learned more about Scottish and Irish history during this time that I ever did at School.

I promise I am the soul of discretion. I have helped quite a few people make connections, and have found a few of our own too, when records didn't quite cut it.
Most of all I love stories, snippets from elders may not mean something at the time you hear them, but eventually they ususally do :D and we must not forget our elders or their stories and memories.

Just reaching out to you on your Darragh line. My 2nd great grandmom was Mary Ann Picket Gray. Her mother was Ellen Frazer Picket who married Robert Picket i Co Derry, Irel. Ellen's mother was Ellen Darragh Frazer who married Samuel Frazer. I obtained the Darragh name from Ellen Frazer Picket's death cert located in the state of Missouri (1910). There are a few indications that Ellen and Samuel Frazer were in Co Derry in the 1850's as that is where their daus were married. I do have one lead that shows my Darragh line in Co Tyrone and possibly in Co Armagh. I have very little info on the Darragh or Frazer (Frayer) line. Maybe we connect somewhere? Have you done DNA? Yes we have DNA for the Darraghs (my Dad) but can't link it here on WT as it's not "mine" have sent you the gedmatch kit no. and also my Ancestry tree (clairesuzy) which it is linked to, I know Ancestry Trees are not always to be believed lol.. but I have tried to only include what information can be sourced/proved or that I have found in my own research, rather than blindly copying elsewhere

Congratulations on certifying to work on pre-1700 profiles! It’s very important to read and understand the Help:Pre-1700 Profiles page. These profiles for deep ancestors are shared by many, and collaborating on them works best if we all follow the guidelines in the certification quiz.
Primary sources should always be added to pre-1700 profiles at the time they are created. If you don't have a source for a pre-1700 profile, it would be best to ask for help in the G2G forum before creating the profile.

I agree with your comments and we have always followed this idea. However, in 1881 Margaret was a dairymaid in Renfrewshire and the Waterstons were dairymen in Edinburgh which was one reason for following that line of enquiry as my grandfather was born in Edinburgh, but as I said we don’t get any dna matches and there is no provable link. Thanks for your reply, we (cousins etc) initially thought that the connection you have suggested was the answer to our “brick wall”. However neither myself or my cousins have had a dna match for Waterston. I’ve even had a FTDNA Y-111 test with no results. Thanks, Frank Brash

Thanks for taking responsibility for the Orphaned profile of Isobel (Stuart) Cameron (abt.1775-1829). This After Adopting Orphans FAQ explains the special attention adopted profiles will sometimes need from their profile managers. One quick way to find the profiles you adopted is by searching your Contributions List for the word "adopted" and "manager." You can find a quick link to your Contributions List in the My WikiTree dropdown menu.
If you will be working with any profiles needing GEDCOM cleanup, the AGC tool can help with formatting so that you can concentrate on the research. You can read more about it in the WikiTree AGC FAQ.

P.S. Please take your time. Finish one profile - adding locations (including countries), dates, and at least one real source - before moving to the next profile. And if you need help finding reliable information for your family members? The easiest way to find info and sources is to use the handy RootsSearch link on the right side of any profile. Use your WikiTree login to access over 20 websites. Once you find a correct source, copy and paste the citation info and add it to the profile. Learn more about sources here.
The reason I am writing is that I noticed you chose our Integrators Challenge for this month. Being that you have not become fully noted as a WikiTree genealogist and not really familiar with how we do things yet, it could have been a mistake.
Please note that one must be with WikiTree about 3 months to participate. Actually the Integrator challenge is an advanced challenge that we offer. When you complete a new profile for one of your relatives just skip over checking a challenge when trying to save the profile.

Am finding it (a wiki) all a bit overwhelming, have been around Family Search /Genealogy for years and have actually lost a lot of sources (images) which I may find on an older hard drive some day. However I've taken a lot of manual notes in my software which I'm not sure is acceptable as a source. Specifically LIBINDX (Morayshire Scotland) and Census extracts from before they (Scotland) went behind a paywall. I can see most of the Family Search ones are added. Can I just add notes into the text with "unconfirmed" for notes I took via actual legwork to various local places.
Q1. LNAB I've realised is not editable except by a trusted member so what who would I report that to if incorrect, I've found one profile already which I could add more Children and Parents to, however the Mothers name (Isabel Cameron) is not entered properly https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Cameron-5118. Her maiden name is Stewart/Stuart but that's been added as her preferred/nickname in error The profile has no manager or I would message them.

Your manual notes will be fine if you say where you got the information. If your notes don’t provide that detail, add a reference to say something like ‘verified on visit to ...., but digital record is currently behind a paywall’. That way someone else might look for them.
If a Last Name At Birth needs changing, it needs to be done by the Profile Manager. Is this the record you meant - https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Cameron-5120 ? If so, the profile does not currently have a profile manager, so you could adopt. Go to the profile and click [adopt this profile] next to where it says ‘No Profile Manager.

I can't actually see the "adopt" link next to the "No Profile Manager", maybe am too new a contributor? No worries anyway I managed to get there via the adopt a profile page instead so first "experiment" complete, (I'm not really looking to adopt yet anyway unless I come across a neglected direct ancestor)
It gave me a crash course in formatting from my noted text.. and 1 child added too. Categories are amazing!! so for a start I think I'll just look to edit to add them where I can along with any edits to add info/sources to exiting profiles :D
I'll get the hang of this wiki thing eventually
