Anthony Daly is Notable.

Anthony Joseph Daly was born in 1874 on either 9 January (Wikipedia) or 9 April (Australian Football).^[1] He was the son of Anthony Daly and Margaret Pender.

Anthony played Australian Rules football in the South Australian Football Association from 1893 to 1912.^[2] He kicked 23 goals for Norwood in a game against Adelaide in 1893,^[3] a record for elite football which has never been broken.^[4]

He married Annie Cecelia Dowd in 1901.^[5]

Anthony died on 21 August 1942.^[1][6] He is buried at Dudley Park Cemetery.^[7]

DALY.—On August 21, at his residence, 14 Buller st., Prospect, Anthony Joseph (Boss ) Daly, beloved husband of Annie Cecelia Daly, and loving father of Mollie (Mrs. J. L. Travers), Kath (Mrs. D. J. Donovan), Lu (Mrs. J. F. McEwen). and Evelyn (W.A.A.F.s), aged 68 years. Requiescat in pace.

His birth does not appear to be in the Genealogy birth registration index. Wikidata's source for the date is only Wikipedia, which doesn't seem to say where it came from. The Australian Football page has him 3 months younger and his headstone doesn't have a birth date. Davis-42955 02:17, 9 November 2023 (UTC)
