Edward Charles Curr had a distinguished career in Tasmania and Victoria, Australia. He was a Company Manager, and the Secretary of the Van Diemen's Land Company at Circular Head, Tasmania, 1824 - 1841.
He was a difficult man and had was successful despite a series of acrimonious business relationships.
Edward was a zealous separatist, and died just 5 days after the news of separation reached Melbourne.
Edward Curr was born on the 1st of July 1798 at Bellevue House, Sheffield, England, the third son of John Curr, a civil engineer who managed the estate and coal-mines of the Duke of Norfolk.
Edward married Elizabeth Micklethwait (1798 - ) on 1 July 1818 in Sheffield, Yorkshire, England. [1][2]

Edward died 16 November 1850 in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia aged ~52 and is buried at Fawkner Memorial Park, Victoria.[3]
