Lucy was born in 1783. She was the daughter of Asa Cowles and Molly Russell. Born on October 31st. 1873 in Canaan, Columbia, New York, she married Jesse Hand in1803. In 1840 they removed to Lyons in Walworth County, Wisconsin. She passed away in Lyons, Wisconsin Jan. 23rd. 1846, and is buried in the old Quaker Cemetery
