Biography

James was born 10 Apr 1870 in Glenelg, South Australia. He was the son of James Cornick and Mary Ann Payne.

He married Marion Gertrude King on 25 Apr 1906 in Sydney, New South Wales.^[1] His marriage notice in The Sydney Morning Herald reads:
CORNICK-KING -April 25, 1906, at St Michael's C.E. Church, by the Rev. Dr. Manning, James, only son of the late James Cornick, of Norwood, Adelaide to Marion (Millie) youngest daughter of Mr F J King, Moore Park. Adelaide papers please copy.^[2]

He passed away 23 Jan 1940 at Bellevue Hill, New South Wales.^[3][4] His death notice in The Sydney Morning Herald reads:
CORNICK.-January 23, 1940, at his residence, 25 Bulkara Road, Bellevue Hill, James Cornick, late of Bronte, beloved husband of Marion, and loving father of Sidney. Aged 68 years. See Thursday's "Herald" for Funeral Notice.^[5]

His funeral notice in The Sydney Morning Herald reads:
CORNICK.-The Relatives and Friends of Mrs MARION CORNICK and SON, Sidney of 23 Bulkara Road, Bellevue Hill are kindly invited to attend the Funeral of her dearly beloved HUSBAND and his dear FATHER, James Cornick ; to leave the Kinsels Chapels, Taylor Square, Darlinghurst, THIS THURSDAY, after service to commence at 10.30 a.m., for the Church of England Cemetery Randwick.^[6]
